I was thinking this morning (yea I do that every now and then)…
compete means: to strive to outdo another for acknowledgment, a prize, supremacy, profit, etc.; engage in a contest
competition means: rivalry between two or more persons or groups for something desired in common, usually resulting in a victor and a loser
I’m no longer competing with anyone…
other than myself!
A novel thought, I know…
but really, what do I have to gain by competing with anyone else?
There will always be someone smarter, prettier, stronger, richer, whatever…
But, there will always only be one ME
So, why not focus on becoming a better me?!
I want to be the best me that I can be.
My goals have changed…
I can do that ya know…
change my mind, my goals, my desires.
My life has changed considerably in the last 3 1/2 months
I have new priorities, new desires, new goals
a man who loves me and I love him, new labels attached to me
I’m going to be the best of those labels, being the best me possible
Improving every day…
And, I’m good with that…
In fact, I’m great with that…
Why torture myself competing with others so that I ultimately will fall short of someone, something
(There will always be someone smarter, prettier, stronger, richer, whatever…)
I’m not going to be bitter, but instead…better
Not to say that some healthy competition doesn’t make one better, stronger, improved but there’s a fine line between bettering oneself and going overboard.
So, who are you competing with?
